Lateness and missed appointments

Lateness

We kindly ask you to plan to arrive on time for your appointment. We try not to keep our patients waiting and operate on a set time schedule. We offer a 10 minute consultation time for each appointment – if you arrive late for your appointment it means other patients will have to wait longer to see the GP.

With regret, if you arrive more than 10 minutes late for your appointment the GP or healthcare professional may not be able to see you and the receptionist will ask you to make a new appointment.

Missed appointments

We are pleased you have chosen us to provide your medical care, but if you miss your appointments you compromise that care. We would like to remind you of our policy regarding missed appointments.

A missed appointment is when a patient fails to attend an appointment without a phone call to cancel, or cancels with less than 2 hours notice.

Late cancellations (under 2 hours notice) are considered as missed appointments.

The GP/patient relationship is built on mutual respect. With this in mind we strive to be on time for your scheduled appointment and ask that you let us know when you are not able to keep your appointment.

On average we have up to 120 wasted appointments per month where patients have failed to cancel.
